Gold is the only animal mutation confirmed by name. The official How to Play uses the plural mutations, so more may exist. No second name has been read in gameplay.
What is confirmed
| Mutation | How it arrives | Confirmed change | Cash effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold, also called Golden | A normal hatch result | The animal is golden | Not established |
There is no mutation item, reroll button, or apply button in the sources. You get the chance by hatching:
- Crack an egg on the map.
- Place it on the plot before it despawns.
- Wait out the timer. One example was 11 minutes. Other eggs are faster or slower.
- Hatch. The animal comes out ordinary or golden.
Golden results in one session came from more than one egg. A Tiger Egg produced a golden Minotaur, heard as Meenator. A Planet Egg produced a Gold Chicken. A Golden Retriever came from a Hacker Egg; that name may be the breed, the color, or both. Do not treat one egg as the Gold egg.
What Gold does not settle
The highest earner in one session had a Gold label on its info, and an unnamed Gold hatch was read at $2,000. Later in a cleanup, a golden capybara earning 12 and the Golden Retriever were deleted as low earners, while animals over about $50 were kept. Gold can sit on a strong animal or on fodder.
Not established: odds per egg, a cash multiplier, rerolling, removing Gold, applying it to an animal you already own, or how Gold stacks with size. Size is its own axis. Dragons were seen small, mini, and large. That is not the Gold mutation.
A rainbow Brachiosaurus in the game's public art shows a 1 in 500Qa rarity label. That label is not the Gold mutation, and that animal is not in the footage hatch list.
When the plot is full, cull by the cash rate on the animal. Recheck hatch timers after a patch. They move, and the 11 minute example is one egg in one session.
