Shoot For Eggs is a plot game. You crack eggs on the map, hatch them at home, and spend the cash those animals earn. The official How to Play order is: shoot eggs, hatch and place animals, collect cash, train on the DamageAuto pad, upgrade your target for bigger pads, buy guns from the pistol toward the RPG, look for rarer eggs, sizes, and mutations, then Rebirth to multiply progress and open locked guns.
First minutes
- Finish the short onboarding training.
- Take the starting pistol onto the map. Labeled eggs wander there. Names seen in play include Common, Strawberry, Space, Devil, Epic, and Mythic, plus many others on the egg index.
- Shoot an egg until its HP bar empties. Reload between bursts.
- Pick up the egg that drops. One session used the home button to get back faster. Place the egg on your plot before it despawns.
- Wait out the hatch countdown. The animal appears on that plot spot when you hatch the ready egg.
- Collect the cash your placed animals generate, then buy the next gun, train, or buy plot space.
Egg health is the real gate
Early eggs sit in the thousands or tens of thousands of HP. One session shows a 20,000 HP Magic Egg and an 80,000 HP Space Egg. Later footage includes a Devil Egg with about 300,000 HP still to burn, a 22,000,000 HP Mystery Egg, a 1,800,000,000 HP Strawberry Egg, a 9,000,000,000 HP egg, and one counter reading 989,962,853,210,061. These are separate sightings, not one ladder.
If a shot barely moves the bar, stop and raise damage or buy the next gun. In one run a Crossbow cracked in one hit an egg that had survived many shots from the previous gun. A player also skipped a Peeman Egg early because they could not crack it, while 1,000 to 2,000 HP eggs were later dismissed as cheap.
Place it or lose it
The exact despawn timer is not published. The cost is. One player lost an 80,000 HP Space Egg by walking too slowly, then sprinted every later egg home. Do not hatch the egg where you shot it. The map egg only cracks. The animal appears after the plot timer.
Observed hatch waits, which do not agree across sessions:

What the first animals pay
A placed animal shows a cash label. Session readings include Hamster and Crab at $1 per second, Snail at $1, Pigeon at $2, Frog at $3, a Cat-egg Bat at $3 per second, a Kangaroo at about $17, and Caloridos from an Epic Egg at $156. A lizard showed $0 and was sold. One B-egg Bat was read as Common and $200 per second, so the same species is not one rate. A Gold-label hatch was a session's top earner, and a Dragon from a large Strawberry Egg was credited with about +200,000 income and called a base's best animal.
Spellings of the Epic hatch vary in transcripts: Caloridos, Caloridas, Caloridus, Calauridus, and Chalicedus. Treat them as one animal until the game prints a stable name.
Where the first cash goes
- Guns. The shop is the main sink. Confirmed prices include Slingshot $2,000, Flintlock $3,000, Crossbow $18,000, M16 $27,000, and RPG $5,000,000 after Rebirth. A Small Uzi was offered free in one shop visit. That offer is observed, not proven permanent. A spoken MP5 price of $2,000 does not fit the shop order and is not listed as its price. - Damage. Buy Unlock Target / Get Your Target, then use the DamageAuto pad. The official text says target upgrades unlock bigger pads. Details are in Raise damage.
- Plot space. When the game says there is no space left, buy the space upgrade or remove the cheapest animal before the next egg despawns. See Plot space.
A recorded session also showed a claimable free egg. Treat shop freebies as something to check when you are home, not as gear every new account receives.
When the balance hits the millions
No Rebirth requirement is published. The only recorded attempt became available around $3,000,000. The first press did nothing; a later press worked. After that, money was described as generating faster, and a second Rebirth was used on purpose before buying the $5,000,000 Mythic RPG. What Rebirth keeps or deletes is not stated.
